Abstract: A critical revision of the Portuguese records of the Conistra rubiginosa (Scopoli, 1763) species group (Noctuidae, Xylenina) revealed the first confirmed occurrence of Conistra gallica (Lederer, 1857) in Portugal, a species previously expected but undocumented in the country. One specimen from Trinta (Guarda), formerly identified as C. rubiginosa, matches diagnostic characters of C. gallica. The current addition to the Portuguese Noctuidae fauna represents the ninth Conistra Hübner, 1821 species known in the country and emphasizes the need for more winter sampling and a revision of previous records.

Resumen: Una revisión crítica de los registros portugueses del grupo de especies de Conistra rubiginosa (Scopoli, 1763) (Noctuidae, Xylenina) reveló la primera presencia confirmada de Conistra gallica (Lederer, 1857) en Portugal, una especie previamente esperada pero no documentada en el país. Un ejemplar de Trinta (Guarda), anteriormente identificado como C. rubiginosa, coincide con los caracteres diagnósticos de C. gallica. La actual incorporación a la fauna portuguesa de Noctuidae representa la novena especie de Conistra Hübner, 1821 conocida en el país y subraya la necesidad de más muestreos invernales y una revisión de los registros previos.

Abstract: Jekelius (Jekelius) pucholti nov. sp. is described from Spain. Differences with the nearest species are discussed. Jekelius (Jekelius) pucholti nov. sp. looks very close to Jekelius (Jekelius) hernandezi (López-Colón, 1988) and Jekelius (Jekelius) verdui Kylies, Pucholt, López-Colón & Bahillo de la Puebla, 2025, although these three species are clearly distinguished by the male’s protibia and the aedeagus.

Resumen: Se describe Jekelius (Jekelius) pucholti nov. sp. de España. Se discuten las diferencias con las especies próximas. Jekelius (Jekelius) pucholti nov. sp. es próximo a Jekelius (Jekelius) hernandezi (López-Colón, 1988) y Jekelius (Jekelius) verdui Kylies, Pucholt, López-Colón & Bahillo de la Puebla, 2025, aunque estas tres especies se distinguen claramente por la protibia del macho y el edeago.

Abstract: A consideration of a recent critique of a previous paper by the authors is carried out and several general issues are also discussed. Evidence is produced confirming Dermestes algeriensis Holloway & Herrmann, 2025 as a valid species and not a synonym of Dermestes undulatus Brahm, 1790 (Coleoptera: Dermestidae). The claim that Dermestes kazakhstanicus Holloway & Herrmann, 2025 is a junior synonym of Dermestes fasciventris Reitter, 1881 could not be assessed for lack of evidence available.

Resumen: Se reflexiona sobre una crítica reciente a un trabajo previo de los autores y también se discuten varios temas generales. Se presentan evidencias que confirman que Dermestes algeriensis Holloway & Herrmann, 2025 es una especie válida y no un sinónimo de Dermestes undulatus Brahm, 1790 (Coleoptera: Dermestidae). La afirmación de que Dermestes kazakhstanicus Holloway & Herrmann, 2025 es un sinónimo más moderno de Dermestes fasciventris Reitter, 1881 no pudo evaluarse a falta de evidencias disponibles.

Abstract: Exephanes ischioxanthus (Gravenhorst, 1829) (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) is reported from Portugal for the first time, with a record from the northern region (Baião, Porto). The record, obtained in a small-scale agricultural mosaic, reinforces the species’ occurrence in the westernmost region of continental Europe.

Resumen: Se cita Exephanes ischioxanthus (Gravenhorst, 1829) (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) por primera vez para Portugal, gracias a un registro de la región septentrional (Baião, Porto). Este registro, obtenido en un mosaico agrícola a pequeña escala, refuerza la presencia de la especie en el extremo occidental de Europa continental.

Resumo: Preséntanse novas citas galegas para as especies Lasius brunneus (Latreille, 1798), Lasius alienus (Foerster, 1850), Lasius paralienus Seifert, 1992, Lasius niger (Linnaeus, 1758), Lasius grandis Forel, 1909 e Lasius platythorax Seifert, 1991 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae). A identificación fíxose mediante os métodos biométricos necesarios no subxénero. Ademais, repásanse as fontes bibliográficas para as demais especies do xénero citadas en Galicia.

Abstract: New Galician records are presented for the species Lasius brunneus (Latreille, 1798), Lasius alienus (Foerster, 1850), Lasius paralienus Seifert, 1992, Lasius niger (Linnaeus, 1758), Lasius grandis Forel, 1909 and Lasius platythorax Seifert, 1991 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae). The identification was made using the biometric methods required in the subgenus. In addition, the bibliographic sources for the other species of the genus reported from Galicia are reviewed.

Abstract: A lectotype is designated for Dermestes pardalis Billberg, 1808 (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) based on the only known type specimen preserved in the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden. The designation is made to resolve longstanding taxonomic confusion surrounding the identity of the species and its distinction from Dermestes hankae Háva, 1999. Examination of type and non-type material from multiple collections shows that the diagnostic characters previously used to separate D. hankae fall within the variation observed in D. pardalis. There is also no difference between any of the aedeagi examined here and the aedeagus of D. hankae holotype, but none of them resembles the illustration provided by Háva in the original description of D. hankae. Consequently, D. hankae is proposed as a junior synonym of D. pardalis. A new species resembling D. pardalis is described as Dermestes havai sp. nov.

Resumen: Se designa un lectotipo para Dermestes pardalis Billberg, 1808 (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) basado en el único ejemplar tipo conocido conservado en el Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet de Estocolmo, Suecia. La designación se realiza para resolver la frecuente confusión taxonómica en torno a la identidad de la especie y su diferenciación de Dermestes hankae Háva, 1999. El examen de material tipo y no tipo de múltiples colecciones muestra que los caracteres diagnósticos previamente usados para separar D. hankae entran dentro de la variación observada en D. pardalis. Tampoco hay diferencia entre ninguno de los edeagos examinados aquí y el edeago del holotipo de D. hankae, pero ninguno se parece a la ilustración proporcionada por Háva en la descripción original de D. hankae. En consecuencia, D. hankae se propone como sinónimo más moderno de D. pardalis. Una nueva especie parecida a D. pardalis es descrita como Dermestes havai sp. nov.
